I think every title from Anchor Bay and Lions Gate now has different UPC's for the ones in rental stores, at least at Hollywood video. I'm not talking about those Masters of Horror with 2 episodes per disc either.
Like I said, about 15-20 discs I bought for cheap had different UPC's but exact disc ID's to the retail versions that were already in the database. I'm sure it's the same with the Weinsteins BlockBuster deal (I will never set foot in BB again, so I can't say for sure), although those probably have different disc ID's as well since every one of their movies I buy now has a "for sale only" page forced before previews. I would guess the rentals have a "for rent only" page to go along with the horrid BB exclusive border on the cover. What makes no sense about that is every rental place ends up selling a bunch of these discs used, you know it's going to happen.

Even better was when the Weinsteins started that BB exclusive thing, the Hollywood right down the street (which feel victim to the closings, R.I.P. closer, sticking it to the man HW ) would go buy a couple copies at Best Buy or whatever, then rent them anyway! The remaining Hollywoods don't do this, forcing me to wait for the library to get Weinstein titles I want to check out but not blind buy. I will never go back to BB since they kept hitting me with late charges on discs returned 2 days early, then calling me a liar when I phoned about it. Even worse, they never said anything to me, no mail, phone mails, just charges on my credit card statement at the end of the month. Burn in hell BB, I wish you a horrible painful death as a company, and that local manager who called me a liar 3 times can die with it!   I hold no ill-will towards the morons who didn't check my discs in when I dropped them off, well ,maybe a little. Hope they stub their toes really hard and it hurts for a few days.
