Not sure if this is the right place for this, but . . .
Is it possible to have either a tick box in features, or a more detailed area to indicate that a movie has some extra material after or during the credits?
Cheers,
Mark.

On the one hand: yes. Such 'post closing credits scene' additions are becoming more popular and quite interesting, either because of a good pun or a link to other movies.

Then again, it is a bit of a recent fenomenon so relatively few movies have this. And a tick box is a bit limited.

We could also make a note of this via the "Easter Egg" documentation feature of each profile. This would require just a minor clarification on the rules for Easter Eggs, I think.
Actually this might even be better because:
* these post closing credit scenes are not announced (AFAIK) on the cover, the disk menu or preluded to in the movie. So the scene is quite 'hidden'
* most people, having watched a movie, don't want to waste 5 to 10 minutes of their life watching completely uninteresting names, so they jump to bonus features, go to bed or view the next movie (*), so unless told, they've never known there is 'more'...
* By putting it in the Easter Egg section it allows for a brief description what the scene is about

(*) Yes, I know, you might want to watch the credit scroll once to record cast and crew for DVD profiler and yes, there are a few movies with very entertaining closing credits (Jackie Chan's blooper stunts, early Pixar movies with funny animations, Ghibli movies that have stills explaining the follow up story, etc.), but... as said, this is rare...

If it is important, say it. Otherwise, let silence speak.

Gerri has already ruled that things seen in the film itself is not a hidden feature... and do not belong in the Easter Egg field. That it is for hidden features of the disc not film. Which I personally agree with 100%... such things do not belong in the Easter Egg field.

Here is the thread that brought it up... and Gerri's ruling is on page 2...

I see this as no different.

This is what I think too...

Quoting Kathy:

These could be contributed as Outtakes per rules: "Footage, generally mistakes, captured during filming, generally humorous. Occasionally, outtakes are scripted (e.g. animated outtakes)."

I don't like to disagree with you Kathy
Those aren't outtakes as they are part of the film credit. The "outtakes/ Bloopers" tick box is in the "Features & Formats" for a good reason, they must be an extra features selectable in the extra menu of a DVD.

Sorry but it's not the way to do them according to the DVDP rules and even the common sense...

I have to disagree with you. What is being described here is a feature of the film, it was shown in the theaters, not the disc. Disc features are menu driven and would be listed as blooper, blooper reel, outtakes orsomething else. You are painting with way ti broad a brush. This info can only go in the notes at presr.t, not contributable or, it seems a stretch to me, in easter eggs with a rule mod. But definitely not a feature.

Further Kathy, the section of the rules is specifically called Disc Features and the section for outtakes specifically talks about the disc menu selection. Do I have to say any more.

Can I get a whoops, sorry about that. Missed it by that much...agent  99.

Kathy.... if I am not mistaken... the OP is talking about another scene of the film.... just placed within (or at the end of) the end credits. Like seen on most all the Marvel films recently... just (usually) a little scene to hint to the next film in the series. Not outtakes and not deleted scenes... just another scene of the film itself placed within or at the end of the credits. Wouldn't qualify as either extra.

Though i do still read the rules the same as Jimmy and Skip said.

because it is not deleted or extended... it is just a scene of the movie as they wrote it placed where they wrote for it to be placed. It is just another scene of the film no different then any other.  Just that some (even most) people would miss this final scene of the movie if they don't know to wait for it.

Then why wouldn't that qualify as a deleted/extended scene?

Because it's neather. It's part of the film.

Kathy read the rule. The subject is a film feature, be it outtakes embedded in the credits, or a scene a la Marvel, a feature of the m and it was shown in theaters. The rule section is called Disc Features and such features are menu driven,  and you can skip right to the "outtake" or deleted scene. I can't wait for you to try and claim scene access is menu driven. This is sadly very normal.

Not to mention the rules for deleted scenes...

rules quote:
Quote:
Deleted Scenes, Alternate Scenes, Alternate endings available through a separate menu option, and not incorporated into the main feature or a documentary.

See the part I put in bold.
