When this continues I'm done submitting online contributions for Belgium You do the hard work and then they keep changing it by removing all kinds of stuff and they get away with it also I dont do the hard work anymore I'm done submitting online contributions for Belgium genuinely don't have the energy anymore to contribute to a community where I get also personal attacks and belittling remarks, simply for having send them a Email with question Why ?
Greetings movieman1964 We can buy DVD from internet (http://www.mediadis.com/ www.cd-now.com), I have DVD from Netherland, France, Hong Kong, Canada, USA, UK....) I don' think to have ever attacked anybody, If this is about the Da Vinci Code and A Perfect Murder contributions I'm sorry but I've only replied to your negative vote about the elimination of the Hairdresser and Hair stylist credits, I've only cited you some forum threads and rules, nothing of personal I'm sorry if I have offended you, I did not mean to hurt your feelings. | | | Updated List of Accepted Birth Years |

| Posted: | | | | Again this all boils down to people submitting blindly corrections that might not apply.
If you don't own the DVD (EAN/UPC) there is no way in hell you can varify what you are changing, and before you cite Ken saying it was OK, here again is another person stating that what he has contributed as being on the DVD as he own's it, and somebody who doesn't is changing it so all profiles are the same.
No DVD, NO Proof.

Quote: persons keep changing Belgium contributions (Why ?) Maybe they own the DVD and the profile has errors or is incomplete? | Posted: | | | | @Snarbo: I couldn't agree more with you. Of course, for pre-release info nobody has the disc at hand, but for discs that have been released, I believe the people best placed to adapt the profile are those that actually have the disc in hand. How else can you verify whatever you're submitting? Unfortunately, the rules state otherwise and any random user can make any submission to a released disc. It can be pretty frustrating at times.
@movieman: It might be interesting if you could point out a few concrete examples, so other users can help you. | | | Blu-ray collection DVD collection My Games My Trophies |

But then "Why don't we allow Hairdresser and Hair stylist credits?" would have been a better thread title. | | | Last edited: by T!M |

| Posted: | | | | Quoting movieman1964: Quote: For me it stops here I'm done submitting online contributions for our Belgium friends I made over 1000 contributions and images if they are not appreciated so be it . ??? Are you the pope or something? I always thought that the only human being that can claim impeccability was the pope of the roman catholic church. So if there are slight errors in your (or any other's (incl. mine)) contributions and Kluge (or any other) finds and corrects them it's perfectly OK. If you take corrections personal then just think of all the profiles you changed. | | | It all seems so stupid, it makes me want to give up! But why should I give up, when it all seems so stupid?

Much ado about nothing again, probably... As for movieman1964: I've seen your work (living only a few miles from the Belgian border I've got lots of Belgian DVD's), and it's generally of a high standard - I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that I'd be sad to see you stop contributing. I don't know what happened here exactly, but generally speaking, you shouldn't take offense at the mere fact that someone submits a contribution to a profile you created. That's just how the system works: profiles are never ever "done": additional work is continuously needed due to rule changes, program updates, and the fact that we have to work with ever-changing common names. So other contributors are bound to come along - some of their changes you may approve of, while other changes you may not like so much - but when it comes to voting, the only important thing is whether the contribution follows the rules, not whether it happens to match your own personal preferences. For instance - again, I'm just guessing based on what I've read here - maybe you like to track hairdressers and hair stylists. Of course you're welcome to do so, but we have the "custom crew" feature for that, and they're not allowed into the online database. If you happened to submit some of these into the database, and if someone else would now be trying to remove them, that person is not doing that as a personal attack to you, nor is he belittling your work. It would just be a contribution that followed the rules - someone submitting an addition or a contribution doesn't mean your work isn't appreciated. |

| Posted: | | | | Well, Tim I have to consider your comments to be essentially invalid. While I agree with you on the Hair issue. I don't agree with you or Kluge relative to using Common Names without ANY kind of Documentation or in your case vague comments, which have recently been proven to be false. The mess that YOU and others are creating for the Online is simply unbelievable. I am already finding that my data differs from what you are Contributing when you make your global changes, the only reason I don't say more at this time is with my discs in storage, I can't verify that my data has not been improperly modified somewhere along the way. You believe that the whole world should follow the standards one lone Dutchman, sorry guy, I won't even say some of the people you are beginning to remind of, but ummm delusions of grandeur seem applicable or maybe just delusions. I once again call upon you to STOP making inappropriate changes to tiles which YOU do NOT own, just because you can hide behind Ken's skirts, and create this havoc, doesn't mean that you SHOULD. The day will come when I will point very loudly and factually at the damage that YOU are doing and have encouraged others to mimic.

Once they are accepted they belong to the community (and rightly so IMO). I understand your grief movieman, but there is little to be gained by getting personally offended by any users. Give it a few weeks, and let things calm down, and hopefully you'll be back somewhere down the road (I know I will be at some time )... Peace out and be free! | | | Berak

I simply have to put most of your comments in the same place I put most of your updates when i see them...in the trash. You really aren't interested in improving the database, what you are actively trying to do is establish the standard according to Tim for the entire world. You, with impunity, make changes to all titles in the world based on what you own, (the single copy), 99% of the time you utterly refuse to document your use of Common Names (and this has recently been shown to be an utter falsehood on your part), you claim to do research and so forth and refuse to provide the fruits of said research. When you provide it, as you have seen I can and will YES, and i will even accept the update, but without it, your work isn't worth the screen time it takes to read. Ken has made comments which permit your gross misbehavior, which is in YOUR interest not the Community, and just because you can hide behind Ken and CORRUPT the database does NOT mean that you should.
I will not change my stance, nor my opinion, I still consider you a friend, Tim, but I do not approve of your behavior or your arrogant attitude...that simple. I know full well the damage that you are causing and encouraging others to cause as well, and it is a shame, that it is more important for you to trash the database than actually listen.
