There is always the possibility that there is more than one version of Harry Potter out there with different names in. If someone can confirm any of those "Rick Sahota" credits then I would go with that one simply because it covers more profiles.
However, it is a big coincidence that Rick Sahota happens to be the name that IMDB uses - so until someone comes forward with a Rick credit I'm inclined to believe all those profiles are simply mined data.

Either way, the "no" vote is wrong. Users are under no obligation to use "credited as". You are listing the names exactly as credited and as such are following the rules. You can't vote no because someone's following the rules.

But the credit in the movie is the same all over there are no diffrence on the credit of cast and crew in the movie maby on the cover with misspelling but not in the movie its must been the same all over.

Not necessarily. There has already been mentioned in the forums before an example where a person's credit is different on the DVD to the one on the blu-ray. We can't automatically rule out the possibility that this is a similar situation.
Personally I think you are right, that we will find that all credits are for Ricky, but I think we should give the owners of those profiles at least a couple of days to see if anyone turns up with a Rick credit.

I've also voted no on this submission, but not because of Ricky Sahota.

Your notes do not explain your changes sufficiently IMO. In other words I am not convinced you have done a proper job.

Yes, I think if you'd documented your findings better, you might get less no votes. It doesn't help to list the entire crew/cast in the notes. Instead specify why your changes are correct, and the old ones are wrong.

Ruben is absolutely correct. The onscreen credit is Ricky Sahota. All those profiles in the CLT got the name Rick from our friends at IMDb. Ruben properly changed the credit to as credited.

That is decidedly not true. The rules say to "Use the 'Credited As' field where the person's name differs from the credited name." Period. Nothing optional there - it's what we're supposed to do. Of course, it's easy to get out of by claiming you didn't know that "the person's name differs from the credited name." That is indeed an easy way out, but that's what the voting process is for: a no-voter can point such occasions out, though, at which point the contributor has the opportunity to fix the contribution. Ken has previously said right here in the forums that if a voter happens to point out a missing use of "credited as" when it actually should be applied, a no-vote is allowed. And rightly so of course - if everybody just contributed "strictly as credited" data, then how are we ever going to get everything properly linked up? The contribution process is an ideal opportunity for making use of this combined knowledge of ours. You may not have spotted each and every entry that needed the addition of a common name, and you can't be blamed for that, but if some of the voters spot a few more of them: great! Every bit of input helps towards a better, more accurate end result.

As for "Ricky Sahota", though, that is the one and only correct entry - no "credited as" necessary there.

I agree that he is correct in regard to the Sahota credit.

Now if this was the only change he made, he would get my Yes vote, however he has added several art crew without properly stating their function, and used common names and YoB without proper documentation. And that is why my vote stays NO...

"common names and YoB"???

There are no additional common names or YoBs in his contribution for this title. Perhaps you need to update your profile to get the latest approved profile. In addition, there is no rule that states that a contributor must document a crew member's function when adding crew credits. Ruben properly listed the two additons to the crew he made in his notes:

"Crew from movie.
David Crossman: Costume Designer
Charlotte Finlay: Costume Designer."

If you doubt their role in the credits then pop the disc in your DVD-ROM drive and check them out yourself.

I think maybe we are talking about two different profiles Max. I am talking about the Norwegian release with UPC 7-321940-284453, and there I can assure you he has added much more than what you refer to.

And this really gets me wondering...

Do you own identical titles from several different localities Ruben, or are you just mass-updating profiles from different localities using one locality as basis?

You apparently think the phrase "Use the 'Credited As' field is a command when it is simply an explanation of how to utilize the Credited As field.  I see no mandate there.

Linking is a worthy goal, i utilize the Credited As field a great deal, but if i am unsure of name linking i submit the correct profile without all the answers.

And the world keeps turning.

I know you mean well, but if you are trying to correct ALL the data based on your copy, please stop. I know it's a mess and so do others. Logic might lead one to conclude that Ricky on one should be for all. We have however, through the school of experience learned that is not necessarily the truth. Evidently, while MOST of the time one set of film credits is usually used on all prints, we have also seen some instances where a slightly altered set of credits may be used not only on different releases but also theatrically. The ONLY this can be determined definitively is for every UPC # to be checked individually, there may well be one more where Ricky is credited as Rick.
