Found this in the KB, have you tried this?

Receiving error message '??? is not a valid date.
The program is unable to process new entries or updates, and gives an error message such as '12-1-2001 is not a valid date'.

Answer:
DVD Profiler uses the windows regional settings to determine date formats. All numeric date formats, such as 12/1/2001, or 2001-12-1 will work correctly. However, date formats which use the month name are not compatible with DVD Profiler.

To resolve this, visit the Windows control panel, regional settings. For the Short Date format, select a format that uses numeric entries. Avoid selecting any format with 'MMM' for the month, which will use the month name.

No, it was just empty after I opened it after a few weeks since last activity. My collection is still online, but I don't know how to restore it into the desktop database. The "restore collection" option only supports .dpb files. The one you download from Invelos online is a .dod file.

Your database shouldn't have just disappeared. Have you checked to see that it's not available as another database... maybe a new database was created and it's set as the default?

Anyone else just lost their collection? My DVD Profiler desktop app is just empty. Online collection still exists.
Downloading the onlinelist.dod file doesn't help.
Any tips? Support service is unresponsive.
I'm scared if I try to sync I'll just upload the empy database and delete the online one as well.

Did anything occur before the database became blank? It sounds like you may have created a new blank database.

I'm assuming your alternate profile shows a "#1" after the UPC number as it does in this example?

Here too. Finally. Interestingly, the website/servers did seem to go offline, for some, before this happened. It makes you wonder if they had a problem with the servers.

They went down shortly afterwards too and there was a page saying server maintenance was being performed. However, the process was relatively short.

You can create it as an alternate version.

The site did go down for a brief period on July 26th so I'm assuming that wouldn't have affected the pending contributions since mine were approved on the 28th. Guess we'll see if they eventually get kicked out when later approvals get released.

Can you say what led up to you losing your collection? Have you tried a database repair? Another thing to check is to make sure you didn't create/open a new blank database by accident. You can check by going to File -> Open Database and seeing if you have one or more databases listed.

From what I recall, Google removed the app since it hadn't been updated in X years. Not being able to move the apps easily between devices is due to Android's design, but applications like Samsung's SmartSwitch will transfer the app to your new device or you can attempt to sideload the app.

I cannot seem to find Black Panther Wakanda Forever in any format, let alone Blu-Ray, so that I can add it to my collection. Even the UPC 786936-893625 comes up empty. Anyone else have this issue?

That UPC shows up for the US, but not CA. The only Black Panther: Wakanda Forever entry for CA appears to be the UHD Blu-ray release.

The one point you make that I agree with is that Invelos should stop selling DVD Profiler if development and product support are dead. The fact that you must purchase it for a fully functioning application suggests that at the very least you should be able to get product support.

---------------

But they're not selling the Android app any longer since it's not on the Play store. Yes, they still sell DVD Profiler for PC, but that still works.

Does your laptop need to access a certain port on your website?

I tried accessing that URL from a web browser and it worked fine. I then created a test HTML window, added that image URL, and received the same issue that you are experiencing.

So that's the path to the html file being used by DVD Profiler, but what is the path for the images within the html file? Are the images actually in the file location the html file is specifying?

Any images that populate within the HTML window for a given profile are cached.  The cached images are then displayed going forward short of performing a right click and selecting the refresh option.  That being said, the images aren't cached in that temp folder.  Not sure where they're cached.

When you installed Win11 was it a fresh install or an upgrade, and was it a new or old computer? It sounds like the cache is no longer there. If you open the html file in a text editor what is the file path for the images that aren't showing. Then you can verify if the images are actually cached in the location specified.

A couple of things:

1. Do you have access to your old PC, if so you can copy over the Images folder to the new PC.
2. When you download from DVD Profiler Online, make sure the box is also checked to download missing images.
3. Have you tried from the menu, Online -> Refresh All Images

Did you have custom images and did your profiles have the images locked for that reason?

Where in the file structure is your database stored?

Both of those references list Summit Entertainment as a production company which doesn't seem to be listed in the DVDP profiles. That explains the difference for CoO though Wikipedia isn't listing the US as countries.

Summit Entertainment (US)
Impact Pictures (UK)
Constantin Film (DE)
NEF Productions (FR)
New Legacy Film (UK)

However, for the US, Summit Entertainment was also the US theatrical distributor so if it's the US release then Summit should be listed first.

I forgot that the features listed on both are different so I change my initial comment and concur that this should be an alternate version.

However, that reminded me that some of the earlier copies also had a back cover that listed all features, but the disc didn't contain those features.

From my perspective, this is no different than other replacement discs so I'd say the disc ID should be overwritten on the original profile. Technically, DVDP stores both for profile lookup.

If it was a complete reissue with a different UPC then I'd say it should be an alternate profile.

In this case, I'd have to agree with the other poster based on my initial research. Here's the link to the company's registration in the UK.

https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/company/SC406063

In Britain, Ltd. or Limited after the company name implies it's a private limited company which means it's a limited company (have limited liability). This aligns with what is shown in the link above, where the company is a private limited company and they have the Limited after the name.

No Votes always have to state a reason why the person is voting no and you should be able to see this

Sure, doesn't mean they're always useful. Sometimes they just state that they prefer the current image.

Both have been used in the credit block of the back covers. You should use what is listed in the credit block just like we use whatever is listed for the studio in the film credits.
