Quote: yea. you are correct. and it SUCKS, doesn't it?? i can't remember how many i profiles i've submitted, but i can tell you that ONE HUNDRED PERCENT of them were rejected. after a while, being told "NO" over and over, i stopped trying. and now NO ONE gets ANY benefit of the effort i've put in for the better part of two decades! and that SUCKS.
And why was that? I'm assuming you're specifically referring to cast and crew data. I've submitted lots of updates over the past two decades and have rarely had issues. Yeah, this seems odd. I've not contributed a lot...less than 1,000 profiles...but I don't think I've ever had a single one declined. For someone to have all of their declined seems to indicate a pattern of not following the rules. | Posted: Topic Replies: 25, Topic Views: 3961 |

This looks amazing, do you make this available for others too?
If I shared my work with others, I would violate IMDb's terms the same way DVD Profiler would, I believe, because my tool imports heavily from IMDb. I'm a little late to this but I don't think he meant sharing your database data, just your database design. I use Microsoft Office but don't have the programming skills to create something this nice so would definitely be interested in the design. | Posted: Topic Replies: 99, Topic Views: 37365 |

Quote: Certainly there must be someone out there who wishes to keep this software going? I don’t understand the plan here. I honestly don't see the upside for someone to buy and maintain the software. As far as I can tell, without a huge overhaul to the business model, it's a money pit. I don't maintain my own servers but maintenance and bandwidth have to be costing Ken something and, without new revenue streams, it's a money pit.

If they are not individually packaged, they use the cover from the box set. This. I handle it differently local (I hate having the boxcover for all the movies) but for the online DB I too think the rules are quite clear. This for me as well...Mithi's portion. I also handle it differently in my local. | Posted: Topic Replies: 7, Topic Views: 1212 |

Yes, this is allowed. You would create a normal profile for the 4K version and then add a child profile for the Blu-ray disc. | Posted: Topic Replies: 6, Topic Views: 1066 |

Pete is correct. That is not an exception to the common name rule, it is a clarification. Military rank/affiliation and other honorifics are not names, they are exactly what they are so we ignore them. | Posted: Topic Replies: 10, Topic Views: 1597 |

The rules allow for the contribution of discs that are "included as bonus discs with CDs or video games" so why not ones that are included with a Blu-ray player? If it were me, I would include it exactly as you described. | Posted: Topic Replies: 1, Topic Views: 1050 |

Quote: I wouldn't include dividers such as "Featuring", or "And" or "With". They come up fairly often and add nothing but confusion to the Cast listing. I guess that's a matter of perspective. I like them, and have entered them, as they do have meaning. Often times a well known actor will receive "last billing" when they play a smaller role and they are usually preceded by an "and" or "with".
As to the original question, I don't believe the rules indicate a 'correct way' for these types of headers other than they are allowed. Beyond that, it seems like a trivial issue so I'll just leave it at that and return you to your regularly scheduled program. | Posted: Topic Replies: 5, Topic Views: 3091 |

Ok thanks, but then who votes/approves on sent in profiles? Is there a special user group? Nobody votes on initial profile contributions. They are approved, or declined, by someone at invelos without input from the userbase. | Posted: Topic Replies: 3, Topic Views: 4126 |

I picked option #2 because the second disc doesn't contain both features and the official Queen website lists the Live Aide Rehearsal as bonus material. | Posted: Topic Replies: 1, Topic Views: 2577 |
